SAM_7120 The unreliable spring weather behaved itself last Saturday, enabling young and old to enjoy an afternoon of cycling and fun in sunny Caernarfon!

Visitors and locals gathered on the Slate Quay at the invitation of local bike shop Beics Menai Bikes (part of the Antur Waunfawr family of businesses), and were encouraged to have a go on any of the bikes on display in the car park.

The event was organised to introduce the shop’s new adaptive fleet of bikes, which includes side by sides, tandem trikes, and electric and non-electric trikes for children and adults, and also to raise awareness of their project ‘Cycling for All’ which has been funded by the Coastal Communities Fund.

Mini-courses were set up so that people could test their skills and have a bit of fun, and staff from Beics Menai and Get Cycling in York were on-hand to give tips and advice regarding all things bikes.

Entertainment was provided by Cimera and their unicycles, and local fund-raising organisation Awyr Las were there with their mascot, Nel Del to promote their upcoming charity bike ride, Life Cycle. Youth charity Gisda were also on-hand to provide sustenance for the cyclists from their food van, ‘Fan Sgram.’
