The Gwynedd Re-use Partnership is a collaborative project between Gwynedd Council, Antur Waunfawr, and Seren, aimed at encouraging households and organisations across the county to re-use unwanted larger items so they can be passed on to someone else who needs them.
As well as reducing landfill, this innovative partnership also helps support our local Social Enterprises by providing them with items that can be modified and refurbished, before being sold on, and thus creating employment opportunities for those with learning disabilities.
Benefits of the Service
Environmentally Friendly
The service we offer helps to make a dramatic difference to the environment where such larger waste is currently recycled – partners are now looking for opportunities to increase reuse.
Offering Opportunity
Your waste not only helps to protect the environment but also offers employment and training opportunities for those with learning disabilities.
Providing excellent value re-used products
The cost of buying new items can often be daunting and a very expensive process. When reusing larger waste, it means that others can benefit from having quality items at a much cheaper price.
What can be re-used?
• Household Furniture
• Office furniture
• Electrical Appliances and IT Equipment
• Garden Furniture & Machinery
• Tins of paint
• Large toys
• Bicycles
• Bric-a-brac
Anything else I need to know?
There will be a specific container at each of the 8 municipal recycling centres at Llandygai, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Garndolbenmaen, Dolgellau, Harlech, Bala, and Blaenau Ffestiniog. These will be clearly marked with the Gwynedd Re-use Partnership signs. If the items are too large, please call 01766 771000, or 01286 669330 for North Gwynedd and 01766 832378 for South Gwynedd, and we will arrange for the items to be picked up; however there may be an additional charge for this service.
