Staff at Antur were given the opportunity to polish their language skills recently, on a six-week Welsh course held at their retail outlet on the Cibyn Industrial Estate.
Canolfan Bedwyr – Bangor University’s Centre for Welsh Language Services – was founded in 1996, and has evolved over twenty years to become the focal point of the University’s aspirations in terms of the Welsh language. It is not only a centre for language services, but is also a hub for research and technology through the medium of Welsh. Its work in developing software solutions, terminology and bespoke language courses and resources is highly valued by other organizations and institutions looking to develop their own use of the Welsh language.
The centre’s work in promoting and facilitating the use of Welsh has been recognised by an award from the Institute of Welsh Affairs but, most importantly, the services and support this centre offers to individuals and businesses in Wales are second-to-none.
