Love Your Clothes and Bangor University are bringing a first of its kind event to North Wales from 11-16 March 2016.
Antur Waunfawr’s involved, and here’s how you can get involved too:
• Donate your unwanted clothes to help us collect a tonne of clothing for Age Cymru, British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru and Antur Waunfawr.
• Exchange your donation for tokens to shop for pre-loved treasures at the clothes swap and swishing event.
• Learn new skills and get creative at one of our free sewing and upcycling workshops.
• Bring an item of clothing in need of some TLC to our high street repair café.
• Come along to talks, demonstrations and masterclasses to learn how to make the most of your wardrobe.
• Take part in the family Easter trail and creative craft workshops.

Fallen out of love? It happens, but someone else will love what you don’t. Fill a collection bag with good quality clothes you no longer want and drop it off at the Love Your Clothes pop-up shop in Deiniol Shopping Centre to receive tokens to shop at the clothes swap and swishing event. Drop off times: 7-10 March (12pm-2pm) and 11-12 March (10am-4pm)
Friday 11 March
REPAIR CAFÉ
10am – 4pm, Age Cymru shop, High Street, Bangor
Button missing? Hole or tear? Hem undone? Caring for clothes and keeping them in use for longer is the single biggest thing we can do to reduce the impact of clothing. Pop in to the Age Cymru shop where an expert will be on hand to make small repairs and bring your item back to life!
TALKS & MASTERCLASSES
10am – 5pm
Throughout the day there will be talks, demonstrations and masterclasses covering a range of topics to help you make the most of your wardrobe. Topics include; how to create a capsule wardrobe, quick fixes to repair your clothes, how to darn, keeping moths away and how to get those pesky stains out of your favourite clothes.

Saturday 12 March
TREASURE TRAIL & CREATIVE CRAFTS
10am – 5pm
A fun-filled day of Easter treasure trails and creative crafting suitable for all the family.
Come along to the pop-up shop for the chance to tie-dye upcycled t-shirts, make sock puppets and Easter bunnies, and create oven mitts and rag bags…all from recycled clothes And take part in the Easter treasure trail to learn about local charities and how clothing donations benefit their work.
No need to book, just turn up! Pick up your treasure trail map from the pop-up shop.
Monday 14 March
SEWING WORKSHOPS
10am – 12pm: Sewing skills for beginners
Learn how to use a sewing machine, make repairs and alterations to keep your clothes in use for longer, and learn how to make a cushion cover or peg bag from recycled clothes.
1pm – 3pm: Sewing secrets
Develop your machine and hand sewing skills and learn tips and techniques to carry out repairs and quick fixes.
Tuesday 15 March
CLOTHES SWAP AND SWISHING EVENT
10am – 5pm
Bring your tokens and shop for pre-loved treasures.
SEWING WORKSHOPS
Up-ccessorise!
10am – 11.30pm a 12.30pm – 2.00pm
Make amazing hair fancies, clips, hair bands, badges, brooches, bobbles and lots more from your old clothes and accessories.
Wednesday 16 March
UPCYCLING AND GARMENT REMODELLING WORKSHOP
1pm – 5pm
See how old or ill-fitting clothes can be reworked and refashioned into a fabulous new item of clothing! And learn how to revamp and rejuvenate what’s in your wardrobe with help and inspiration from our design experts.
